Our bobil adventure

We’re booked! We have just received confirmation that our Motorhome (or in Norwegian ‘Bobil’, which literally translated means ‘home car’) is booked for 31 nights, 4 July to 4 August for our summer holiday. You can see the van we are renting here https://www.ideamerge.com/motorhomes/germany/mrent/group5_specs_2.html.

We are planning to travel from Frankfurt to the eastern (Bordeaux to Biarritz) and southern part of France (Provence, Cote d’Azur, Alps) including seeing the l’Alpe D’Huez stage of the Tour de France (no prizes for guessing who added that to the itinerary!), then into Northern Italy (perhaps Cinque Terre, Lake Como and surrounds, Milan), then back to Frankfurt via Switzerland. If anyone has some suggestions on places to see and things to do we would love to hear your recommendations, just add to the comments section.

Can’t wait!

Emma.

  1. Hi Joel & Em
Your bobil tour sounds great, I only have a couple of suggestions: Cinque Terre is a fabulous place, but if I remember right, mainly for pedestrians. Even if you travel in high season it is silly to miss out on Venice. It is probably the most unique city in the whole world. Good luck with it all though, Jan

  2. Joel, you can't miss Como - this is where Nanny Ireland's heritage is from. Dad and I spent a night at Como and wished we had the time to explore a bit about the Cappi family. We are planning to this again later in 2008 when we join both you and Em at Christmas.

    Love to you all

    Sharyn
